Get time to update or make your online business listings can sometimes be a challenge. But, once you get your listing on Map, you can rule what data are shown on the site about your business, which is surely worth the creation.


In most cases, you may already have a business listing, so this is just a being on call for the page or claiming for your business. What’s the difference between updating and claiming? Updating means you’ve created an account and just need to enumerate new data to the page. Claiming means that a page for your business exists, but you may not have made it. In this case, you’ll have to prove it’s your business before you can modify any information.

If you want to qualify for a local business listing in any SERP, your business must have all four of the following norm:

  • Get a business name through Google
  • Have a local phone number that matches your city of location & the faithful physical street address
  • Participate in social media (and completely fill out your profiles)
  • Have a business website
When you do searches in Google, you generally get a very different SERP - Sometimes you get websites, Sometimes you get company listings. Google Announced Google Local 7 Pack

In June, 2013 -  the SERP that shows the business’ name, address, phone number and map is referred to as a 7 Pack. Now this is called a Google Local 7 Pack, because this is used to list 7 locations. The actual formula for ranking high on Google+ Local is completely depends upon the above factors if they are correct. Check out below when I search for ‘restaurants Boston Massachusetts’.

The latest Pigeon update has removed almost all local 7-packs for a tighter, Now on August 6, 2015 - Google announced Local 3-pack for local listings.

Google announced it in both US and internationally.

Few Things announced in this Local 3-Pack

  • Address Deleted - Google has deleted local address from the pack listings & you need to click through to the website or map listing in order to get the exact address.
  • Phone Number Deleted - Google has deleted phone numbers from the listing & by you want to call or want to get a business number then need to click on website link & get a contact number from there.
  • Google+ Link Deleted - Deleted Google+ links from the pack of a listing. Now there is no need of a Google+ page for placing the business.
  • Store Hours Added
  • Google Reviews - No longer Labelled
  • No Flayouts: We are used to being able to scroll over local listings to see the local card for the business displayed on the right hand side.  This no longer happens, to see the “Card”, you have to click through to the secondary local page.
